Leila Hadj Abdou is currently a Research Fellow at the Migration Policy Center (MPC,EUI,Florence). Leila also held research fellowships at the University of Vienna (AT), and the University of Sheffield (UK), as well as at the Centre for Transatlantic Relations at the School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS, Johns Hopkins University) in Washington D.C. (U.S.). Leila is specialized in international migration governance,
immigrant integration and immigration policies, and the populist right. She has also relevant, practical experience in the field of asylum/migration, having held positions in an NGO working with asylum seekers, and refugee care workers.
